EDITOR,—A Wright and R Bradford's review of the management of acoustic neuroma omits the importance of corneal health and the visual consequences of ignoring early signs of corneal disease.1 Patients with acoustic neuroma may have three factors leading to corneal compromise: decreased corneal sensation preoperatively, postoperative facial palsy with associated poor lid closure, and decreased vasomotor tone to the lacrimal gland after seventh nerve palsy.
