Abstract

The radiation impedance of an outgoing cylindrical wave is computed at a radius a for ka = 5, 15, 25, 35, and ∞. The values are used to explain the phenomenon of acoustic pumping and to show when the radial particle velocity can be approximated by i(2π/λρc) times the pressure.
