Abstract

This paper presents an acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) based adaptive control for grid integrated solar energy conversion system (SECS) feeding power to the grid. It contains a three phase two level PWM voltage source converter (VSC) connected at the point of common coupling (PCC) to the three phase ac distribution system and three phase linear/nonlinear load. The VSC system performs multi-functions like delivering photovoltaic (PV) array power to the grid and the load, improving gird power factor to unity by compensating the reactive power requirement of the load, improving the grid current power quality by supplying the harmonics power to the load and load balancing. It uses an AEC based adaptive control algorithm to control the VSC and incremental conductance (INC) method to take care of the maximum power available across the PV array. The system performance is validated through simulation and test results.
