Abstract

In this paper, the acid concentration control approach for the pickling line in the cold rolling plant, which consists of 4 pickling tanks, is proposed. The amounts of fresh acid are calculated by the acid concentration model of pickling line, which is based on the hybrid gray box modeling approach(Sohlberg, 2005). The dynamics of the acid concentration by solution flow among the pickling tanks is derived as differential equations, and the acid consumption by chemical reaction with the oxidation layer is considered as specific continuous functions. And the parameters in the model are estimated by learning the real data. Based on this model, a feedforward controller is designed. The efficiency of proposed approach is validated by applying on real site.
