Abstract
Coprecipitation of ferric and ferrous iron salts in the presence of Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) demonstrates an unusual impact on crystal growth mechanisms and eventual nanoparticle morphology. For BSA 200–800μMol/ml, polycrystalline acicular and haloed spheroid particles were observed and these samples demonstrated surprising magnetic properties, including high coercivity.
