Abstract

Acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) is one of the most commonly prescribed drugs all over the world. The constant ASA administration results in the considerable side effects, especially associated with the gastrointestinal tract. The review evaluates the enterotoxic ASA effects as well as the current understanding of the frequency, pathogenesis and approaches to the treatment of ASA­associated enteropathy.
