Abstract

For endoscopic diagnosis of colorectal neoplasia, image enhanced endoscopy is currently increasingly used, nevertheless, Kudo's pit pattern classification has been considered as the most reliable optical diagnosing method for predicting the histology of the colonic polyps.1-4 For evaluating this pattern, crystal violet has been used especially in Japan, however, it is not recommended anymore due to its potential carcinogenicity. Here we demonstrate the use of 1.5% acetic acid (AA) together with Near-Focus narrow band imaging (AN-NBI) which possibly cherishes the potential to replace crystal violet5 .
