Abstract

Despite the importance of peer review for brachytherapy plans, human errors could occur. An incorrect programming time can easily result in medical events. Thus, to detect incorrect plan such as abnormal radiation time and isodose volumes before treatment delivery, we further developed a tool of independent check of brachytherapy plans. To accurately predict total radiation time, we performed correlation analysis between clinical target volume (CTV) and total reference air kerma (TRAK) in CT-based HDR interstitial brachytherapy. Furthermore, the volumes enclosed by the isodoses, numbers of implanted catheters, and active dwells were estimated with the CTV.
