Abstract

The superposition method is used to obtain a highly accurate analytical type solution for the free vibration of rhombic plates with simply supported and with fully clamped boundary conditions. Recent modifications to the superposition method have been incorporated into the analysis and are described in some detail. These modifications have led to vast increases in the efficiency of the computational procedure. Accurate eigenvalues are tabulated for numerous vibration modes and for a large range of plate geometries.
