Abstract

The Prüfer phase function method for calculation of differential cross section by Regge pole theory is described and tested. The approach provides a procedure for exact quantal calculation of Regge pole positions and residues, quantum saddles and other quantities required for evaluation of the differential cross section to virtually any desired accuracy and with realistic error control. Applications to a complex optical potential and to rainbow scattering are presented.
