Abstract

Radiation boundary conditions developed for use with the vector Helmholtz equation in three dimensions are reviewed, including an alternate second-order radiation condition that preserves the symmetry of the matrix operator arising within a numerical implementation. The accuracy of these conditions is systematically tested as a function of the boundary location using outward-propagating spherical harmonics. >
