Abstract
Where the dots go. GlcNAc-, galactose-, glucose-, and mannose-displaying CdTe quantum dots have been synthesized. We found that GlcNAc-displaying quantum dots were specifically accumulated in digitonin-permeabilized HeLa cells only in the presence of ATP. This finding supports the hypothesis that the HSP70 family in the endoplasmic reticulum has an affinity for the GlcNAc moiety.
