Abstract

Fruits of sapodilla ( Manilkara achras Forsberg) take 10.5 months to complete maturity. It was found that the accumulation pattern of N, P, K and Mg in fruits ran parallel with the growth pattern. Ca accumulation differed considerably when compared with other elements. Lag phase (Stage II) of fruit growth was marked with a considerable reduction of the absolute content of N, P, K and Mg in the pulp. Fruits accumulated higher amounts of K compared with other elements, and P content was the lowest at maturity.
