Abstract

• Antibiotic resistance genes were analyzed in crayfish faeces. • Crayfish can accumulate antibiotic resistance genes in their intestine after a short time of SMX exposure. • Low concentration of sulfamethoxazole in the surrounding water causes accumulation of this antibiotic in crayfish tissues.
