Abstract

Some modern methods of analysis with a high degree of sensitivity are described: neutron activation analysis, and Proton-induced X-ray excitation. Reasons are given for using these methods when a study is made of trace elements occurring at different trophic levels of the environment. Finally a description is given of an analysis of Greenland ‘red snow’ by means of proton-induced X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy.
