Accounting the transportation costs as a part of the construction cost

Abstract

The study considers and analyzes transportation costs included in the material estimate costs. When performing calculations of the estimate construction costs by the input method, as well as the input and index method, various methods of transportation cost calculations are used, which leads to different error values. To solve this problem, the authors performed an analysis of transportation costs by types of construction and installation works, as well as by material types. The analysis provided a dependence of the transportation cost on the material estimate cost for the materials accounted and unaccounted by the standards. Furthermore, the error has been found for the transportation cost determined by the calculation method compared to the cost provided by the Federal Book of Estimate Prices for materials. The results of the analysis made by the authors allow to propose an improvement to the construction goods transportation cost calculations in order to optimize the construction costs.
