Abstract

Accountability is one of crucial properties that ensures the security of the message sent over the network. The meaning of accountability is widely described depending on the aspect that one is focused on. The results of the change from conventional paper based health record to Electronic Health Record (EHR) have an effect on both health care professionals and patients. On one hand, the electronic health system makes a huge benefit to patients and health professionals. On the other hand, it raises privacy issues and security risks. The obstacles of using the e-health records are security concerns and patient privacy. In this paper, an accountability model and an accountability protocol for e-health records are proposed to get rid of the obstacles in electronic health systems.
