Abstract

Using the well-known work of Kurt Lewin and William Bridges and the newer work of Spencer Johnson, the authors explore the change process. They discuss some of these experts' concepts and their application to the process of organizational change, especially as they relate to the health care system. The transition from an unstructured approach in the treatment of Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome (AWS) to the use of an AWS Practice Guideline is given as a specific example delineating the change process.
