Abstract
The aim of this article is to show how Franz Kafka’s, Samuel Beckett’s and Francis Bacon’s art works, in some meaningful aspects, take care of several problems of modern subjectivity. These works can be understood as an internal criticism to these problems within the horizons of Modernity. The specifics of this critical art are analyzed by means of a net of connections. Firstly, establishing the differences between the logic of the action in the Modern tragedy and the logic of the event, typical from the Greek epic poetry and the Ancient tragedy. Right after, showing the differences between the subject of Modern tragedy and the self of the critical art of 20th century. The article concludes portraying how affects to this critical art the stress between the logic of the action and the logic of the event.
