Abstract

Among the countries that became UE members in 2004, five of them, namely: Cyprus,Malta, Slovenia, Slovakia and Estonia also adopted Euro. The paper analyses the way these statesaccomplished the convergence criteria in order to emphasize the difficulties they encountered and howthey solved all these problems, lessons to learn for Romania in the EMU integration process.
