Abstract

Access to Justice is the basic human right that emerges from the Constitution and legal statutes of a country. From time and again there have been instances when this primary common law right has been sidelined. This essay aims at identifying the various reasons and circumstances when access to justice is compromised by the State and its individuals. The paper is divided into three segments: (i) backdrop of the right of access to justice; (ii) reasons why justice delayed is justice denied; and (iii) possible suggestions that can improve the present scenario.
