Abstract

This paper deals with the accepted names, relevant synonyms and typifications of the 92 unpublished Flora Indica drawings drawn by local Indian artists for William Roxburgh in the Calcutta herbarium (CAL) belonging to the family Euphorbiaceae, s. l., including Phyllanthaceae and Putranjivaceae. These drawings represent 33 genera and 79 species. Lectotypes are designated here for 18 accepted names (or their basionyms/ replaced names) and 16 synonyms. A new name, Macaranga williamroxburghii Chakrab. has been applied replacing the illegitimate name Urtica invloucrata Roxb.
