Abstract
The results of an experimental study of pulsed streams generated by an electrothermal launcher and the acceleration dynamics of microparticles in these flows are described. The experimental data obtained, in particular, by using laser probing of flows have confirmed that microparticles are captured and accelerated by the gas flow region following the head shock wave. The use of a multigap design of the accelerator discharge unit allowed for efficient formation of this region. Analyzing the coatings from powder materials deposited with the help of the electrothermal launcher has demonstrated the possibility of obtaining high-quality coatings.
