Abstract

Dielectric properties of polycrystalline ice Ih doped with KOH were investigated at low temperatures. The dielectric relaxation was drastically accelerated by KOH-doping. An order-disorder phase transition below which the protons are ordered was observed at 72 K. The anomalous dielectric dispersion in the low temperature phase and the origin of the acceleration of the dielectric relaxation are discussed.
