Abstract
Next generation wireless communications systems operating at millimeter-wave frequencies are utilizing phased arrays of increasing electrical size to overcome path loss. The size of these arrays can make simulations become infeasible due to the amount of computation and memory required. Here we discuss parallelization and hardware acceleration methods to overcome these obstacles for large scale phased array systems. The acceleration of these methods was quantified using an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing frequency-domain simulator.
