Abstract

Julie Ann Funk, D.V.M., M.S., Ph.D., had a calling to the veterinary field from a young age. “I actually cannot remember wanting to be anything else,” she said. Now the Dean of the Veterinary College of Medicine at the University of Arizona, Funk's ability to serve the field by training future veterinarians has expanded her reach. And Funk has engaged with UA on a mission to make attaining a degree in veterinary medicine more affordable and introduce workers from the graduate program more quickly into the veterinary field.
