Abstract

We investigate a model of a uniformly accelerated particle detector which possesses directional discrimination and find that it responds as though subjected to an anisotropic time-dependent flux of radiation. Only a detector responsive to disturbance in the forward and/or reversed directions of motion responds as though immersed in a bath of thermal equilibrium radiation.
