Abstract

Eutectic high entropy alloys (EHEAs) have attracted wide attention in the metallic materials due to the good castability, phase stability, as well as the excellent strength-ductility synergy. How to design more eutectic compositions in a certain high entropy alloy system remains to be challenging. Here, we established the simple empirical mathematical rules to accelerate design the AlCoaCrbFecNid EHEAs. The mathematical formulas are: d ≥ 1.0, 3.89a + 4.27b + 4.17c + 3.87d ≈ 20.45, a − 2b + 2d ˃ 2.0, and (a + d) ˃ (b + c). On the basis, eight FCC/B2-type near-EHEAs were obtained by experimental verification.
