Abstract

Biomedical researchers will be eligible for more support under a £1.6m scheme to help them “fulfil their leadership potential” and prevent the NHS losing talent. The Academy of Medical Sciences’ initiative, called “Springboard,” aims to support people in the early stages of their careers as they move to establish themselves as independent researchers. It will offer mentoring, career development, and financial support to researchers, in a bid to ease the pressure that can lead many to exit the profession too soon.
