Abstract

Abstract The Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences is one of two professional associations available to students, practitioners, and criminal justice/criminology scholars within the United States. Its lineage may be traced to the beginnings of American criminal justice/criminology as a scholarly discipline. This article provides an account of the history, purpose, and functions of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
