The SciencesVolume 7, Issue 6-7 p. 22-25 Academies—Then and now HUDSON HOAGLAND, HUDSON HOAGLAND Dr. Hudson Hoagland is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology at Shrewsbury, Mass. He received his Ph.D. in physiology from Harvard in 1927, and is currently Affiliate Professor of Biological Psychiatry at Boston University. Dr. Hoagland, who has published widely on adrenal and neurophysiology and the biochemical aspects of mental disorders, was named “Humanist of the Year” in 1965 by the American Humanist Association.
