Summary

Introduction

There has been an increasing amount of influence of parental choice on medical choice. Research on the role of parental choice in influencing student’s academic achievement and life satisfaction have revealed a number of findings (Jiang, Huebner & Hills, 2013; Jenkins, Belanger, Connally, Boals & Durón, 2013). It has been found in a number of studies that the influence of forced parental choice is highly negative and leads to long term psychological and career problems among young adults. Some studies have found that the impact is positive for students as educated parents have a better understanding about the career choices for their children that are going to lead to long term benefits and advantages (Casas, et al, 2013; Jiang, Huebner & Hills, 2013; Jenkins, Belanger, Connally, Boals & Durón, 2013)
