Abstract

The results of laser mass spectroscopic investigations on the abundance distribution of positive and negative ions formed on a tungsten oxide/graphite system will be described and discussed. The results will be compared with those obtained with a tungsten carbide sample. A comparison of the intensities of positive and negative ions in the mass spectra indicates that the WO − 3 ion formation in the laser-induced plasma is more intense than the formation of positive cluster ions.
