Abstract

The Clinical (Binghamton) Campus of Syracuse-based SUNY Upstate Medical University provides innovative educational programs emphasizing the training of generalist physicians with special emphasis on primary health care, health mainte- nance, and collaborative medical education. Guthrie clinicians and scientists have served on the faculty of the community-based educational program since its inception. The Clinical Campus is also dedicated to fostering collaborative and interdisciplinary research, and improving coope rative activities among its affiliate institutions in the Southern Tier of New York and northern Tier of Pennsylvania. As part of this mission, the Clinical Campus sponsors an annual Research Poster Session. The tenth Annual Clinical Campus Poster Session was held on November 21, 2002, in Binghamton, NY. Abstracts from the work presented at this meeting follow:
