Abstract

Background:Cannabis abuse in some patients with schizophrenia is a common feature. It is reported that substance use disorder comorbidity is associated with poor prognosis. It is suggested that the dual diagnosis patients may have different personality profile.Aim:The present study aims at comparing personality factors, aggression, impulsivity, and sensation seeking in patients with schizophrenia having cannabis abuse with the patients without substance abuse. Material and Method: 30 male patients with schizophrenia and 30 male patients of schizophrenia with cannabis abuse will be taken from inpatients department of Institute of Mental Health and Hospital, Agra. Following tools will be individually administered on them. (1) NEO-FFI-3 (Mccrae & Costa, 2004) (2) Aggression Questionnaire (Buss & Perry, 1992), Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (Patton et al., 1995) and Sensation-Seeking Scale (Zuckerman et al. 1964).Results:The data will be analyzed by appropriate statistical techniques and results will be shared during presentation.
