Abstract

Percutaneous cholecystostomy is routinely performed in patients with acute calculous cholecystitis who are not surgical candidates. Given high rates of recurrent cholecystitis following removal of percutaneous cholecystostomy drains, these result in significant morbidity and sometimes remain until death. This study aims to describe percutaneous cystic duct interventions as treatment options for patients with calculous cholecystitis who are not surgical candidates.
