Abstract

Augmented reality (AR) enabled by a head mounted computer provides a means for the user to visualize and interact with virtual three-dimensional models placed in the real world. Extending this concept, AR enabled pre-procedure anatomy reviews may help improve understanding of common interventional radiology (IR) procedures for medical students and junior trainees. We sought to develop and deploy focused anatomy modules describing IR procedures using AR as well as investigate whether these modules could be performed prior to procedures in a busy academic interventional radiology practice.
