Abstract

Treatment of saccular aneurysms (SAs) depend on their morphology and location. Minimally invasive treatment options include coil embolization, flow diverter stents, stent-assisted coiling and liquid embolics. Many drawbacks are associated with these treatment options. To overcome these drawbacks, we developed and tested a novel biomaterial for the endovascular treatment of SAs in vitro, in cell culture, small and large animal models.
