Abstract

Interventional radiology (IR) provides options for patients with malignant hepatobiliary disease. Obstructive jaundice is a common problem in Tanzania (Tz). Prior to the introduction of IR in Tz, these procedures were unavailable. Many patients in Tz present with late-stage disease, IR has provided new ways of improving their quality of life. Here we demonstrate how minimally invasive therapies for malignant obstructive jaundice were incorporated as a new treatment option in Tz.
