Abstract

Transgastric drainage (TGD) of pancreatic duct leaks (PDLs), which include fluid collections or pancreaticocutaneous fistulae (PCF), offers a unique strategy to prevent the long-term complication of PCF that can be caused by direct percutaneous drainage. TGD can also manage an existing PCF by providing a route for diversion. TGD can be performed by interventional radiology earlier than endoscopic interventions, which require weeks for the development of a mature tract or cyst wall. This study sought to determine the efficacy and safety of TGD of PDLs.
