Abstract

The lymphatic system returns fluid predominantly through the thoracic duct to the venous circulation at the left venous angle. Lymphovenous shunts (LVS) have been described at various other levels and during lymphangiography have resulted in complications from non-target ethiodized oil embolization (NTE) in the pulmonary circulation, brain, liver, and kidneys among other areas (1-6). NTE has been noted occur in patients who have lymphatic leaks below the diaphragm or due to non-traumatic lymphatic disorders (4-6).
