Abstract

Bone marrow aspirations and biopsies (BMAB) are performed for diagnosis and evaluation of many diseases. The most common location is the posterior iliac crest (PIC). This can be done with palpation or imaging guidance; computed tomography (CT) or fluoroscopy. There is limited data comparing CT versus fluoroscopic-guided procedures. The purpose of this study is to evaluate if CT or fluoroscopy significantly differ in efficiency, effectiveness, radiation exposure, or safety.
