Abstract
Deposition of Lipiodol and absence of arterial enhancement after conventional TACE have been shown to correlate with coagulation necrosis in treated tumors, but these changes may not result in reduced tumor size. RECIST criteria are based solely on change in tumor size while the RECIST Amendment for Tumor Response Evaluation (2D EASL) criteria assess tumor necrosis. The purpose of this study was to compare RECIST criteria (version 1.1) and 2D EASL criteria in evaluating tumor response and patient survival after conventional TACE for HCC.
