Abstract

Ethanol ablation (EA) has also been described as a viable treatment option in thyroid cancer (TC) patients with spread to cervical lymph nodes (cLN). While EA has been documented to be safe, the treatment often requires multiple therapies and the difficulty of ensuring alcohol permeates and therefore destroys all of the target tissue is well known. While thermal ablation techniques such as cryoablation have been shown to be more effective than alcohol ablation in other settings, to the authors knowledge no report of thermal ablation in cervical lymph nodes has been reported.
