Abstract
Outpatient interventional radiology (IR) procedures may be performed at a variety of sites with variable reimbursement, including hospital-based outpatient departments (HOPD) or office-based labs (OBL). OBL reimbursement is uniquely structured with a global fee that includes all equipment costs for procedures. Understanding reimbursement differences between sites is important for health systems considering expansion OBLs to increase overall outpatient IR capacity and optimize workflows.
