Abstract

Radiation exposure to the eye and crystalline lens is a significant concern for all operators and staff of interventional radiological procedure. However, there is no data of scattered radiation injuries to the lens of interventional radiologists (IRs). The purpose of this exposure-control comparative study is to evaluate the influence of the scattered radiation to the lens in IR group, comparing to the no-risk of occupational radiation group as a control. This study was performed under approval and support of Japanese Society of Interventional Radiology.
