Abstract

Irreversible electroporation (IRE) is an innovative loco-regional therapy recently introduced as a potential tissue ablation technique. Previous studies have demonstrated that IRE can ablate substantial volumes of tissue without inducing thermal effects. The purpose of our study was to investigate the efficacy of IRE for targeted ablation of HCC. We tested the hypothesis that IRE procedures would lead to tumor necrosis in a transplanted HCC rodent model.
