Abstract

Ethyl cellulose-ethanol (ECE) is emerging as a novel gel-formulation ethanol for tumor or nerve ablation with a more controllable delivery profile compared with traditional liquid ethanol. The ethyl cellulose (EC) polymer sequesters ethanol and reduces leakage. The current study aims to investigate ECE as a synergistic vector for intratumoral (i.t.) drug delivery to improve drug retention and treatment efficacy.
