Abstract Mission Statement: To empower the minority community to take a more active role in meeting their health needs. Goals: To educate African American women & families about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, breast self-exam (BSE), clinical breast exam (CBE) and mammograms; to inspire and recruit survivors to participate in Women In Touch (WIT); to educate and gain the trust of minority women about enrolling in clinicals trials. Our Services: Wig bank, protheses, transportation, health care symposium, presentations at churches or civic groups, support group meetings, quarterly newsletters and financial assistance referrals.
