Abstract

Abstract Inflammatory breasst cancer ((BC) is an uncommon and highly agressive form of breast cancer, with a predilection for both distant metastases and local regional recurrence. In this talk we will review challenges in radiation therapy planning and execution unique to IBC. These include staging studies and photographs to define the full extent of disease prior to systemic therapy, as well as current thoughts on dose and fractionation. We will also discuss pros and cons of local therapy in patients with metastatic disease, as well as ongoing research studying ways to optimize local regional control with concurrent systemic therapy and radiation.
